Portumna Forest Park

Coillte welcomes many visitors each, to this forest with many amenities on the shores of Lough Derg covering some 1100 acres.

Amenities and facilities include picnic areas, car park, toilets and a host of different trails including an impressive wheelchair and buggy friendly walkway and viewing platform suitable for people with special needs.

Sixteen species of wild mammals reside within the Forest Park, including the fallow deer of which there is a large herd within the forest, the elusive pine martin, and the red squirrel, stoat, badger, and fox may be also encountered. Bird life also abounds and 85 different types breed here.
