Galway East Ecclesiastical Trails

The Ecclesiastical Driving Trail is made up of two separate driving routes which between them cover the entire East County Galway, and take in 21 of the regions oldest, best preserved and most famous religious sites. The 2nd route is a 100 mile circuit that takes in the towns of Loughrea, Portumna and Ballinasloe, and visits sites including Clontuskert Abbey outside Ballinasloe, Kilconnell Church, and Clonfert Cathedral. All information maps and audio are available for free download from www.galwayeast.com/wayfinding or visitors can pick up free brochures and audio cd's at local Tourist Information Centres such as Portumna Tourist Office.
